Another Great Auction
This lot comprises a collection of nine contemporary novelty decorative items, primarily dog-themed. Eight items are wall-mountable signs, predominantly constructed from metal (likely tin or aluminum), with one appearing to be wood or MDF. The ninth item is a new, packaged plastic and metal keychain or bag charm. The signs feature various dog breeds and humorous or sentimental English texts. These include “EVERY SNACK YOU MAKE EVERY THING YOU BITE EVERY BITE YOU TAKE I’LL BE WATCHING YOU,” “BLACK LABRADOR: PERSONALITY MAKES THEM EASY TO TRAIN AND VERY GREEDY,” “JACK RUSSELL ON PATROL,” “SHUT THE GATE DOG PLANNING ESCAPE,” “BEWARE OF THE DOG” (in distressed red), “THIS HOME IS BLESSED with love, laughter, friendship and a DOG,” and “DOG LOOSE PLEASE DO NOT ENTER!” The wooden/MDF sign reads “A home isn’t a home without a DOG.” The keychain, still in its original packaging marked “WAGS & WHISKERS,” also states “BEWARE OF THE DOG A clever, outgoing Labrador patron is here. You have been warned!” Many signs exhibit a manufactured distressed or aged finish, and several retain price stickers. The ‘EVERY SNACK YOU MAKE…’ metal sign is consistent with ‘La Hacienda’ branded items identified in web research.
