Another Great Auction
A group of decorative metallic objects, including a carving fork and a pair of rests, likely associated with a Sheffield Kings Pattern carving set, alongside a Toledo letter opener. The pair of ornate rests feature central sections of iridescent mother-of-pearl or shell, flanked by ribbed spherical ends and decorative bands of silver-toned metal with scrollwork. The three-tined carving fork, also of silver-toned metal, presents an elaborately scrolled handle consistent with the Kings Pattern. The miniature sword-style letter opener has a pointed blade and a highly decorative hilt with gold-tone and dark metal damascene-style ornamentation. The blade is clearly marked “TOLEDO,” indicating its origin from the renowned Spanish city for metalwork.
