Another Great Auction
A collection comprising approximately 17 coins from various countries and periods, primarily in silver-toned metals, with some copper/bronze examples. The collection includes British coinage such as shillings dated 1902 (Edward VII, inscribed “EDWARDUS VII D:G: BRITT:OMN:REX F:D:IND:IMP.”), 1939, and 1944 (George VI, inscribed “GEORGIVS VI D:G: BR:OMN:REX F:D:IND:IMP.”). Also present is a French 1 Franc coin dated 1904. American coinage in the collection features a Buffalo nickel (dated 1940), a Jefferson nickel (dated 1944), a Barber dime (early 1900s), a Standing Liberty quarter (1920s), and other quarters, all bearing “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.” A Canadian coin with a moose design, dated in the 1940s, is also visible. The visible dates across the collection range from the early 1900s up to 1944. Notably, the collection includes several United States quarters. Research indicates that certain minting errors on quarters from this period, such as die errors, missing words, or off-center strikes, can significantly enhance their numismatic value, with comparable examples achieving substantial prices in the market.
