Another Great Auction
Comprising two hinged boxes. The larger box is rectangular, crafted from light-colored wood with a varnished finish. Its lid features a transfer print depicting ‘SIR WALTER SCOTTS MONUMENT, EDINBURGH,’ flanked by painted fern motifs, characteristic of a souvenir item from the late 19th or early 20th century. The smaller box is also rectangular and hinged, presenting a lid with a distinct tortoiseshell pattern, likely composed of celluloid, bakelite, or a similar composite material, set upon a dark base.
