Another Great Auction
A group of three distinct printed paper film memorabilia items. The first is an original movie poster for the 1955 20th Century-Fox production ‘The Virgin Queen,’ starring Bette Davis, Richard Todd, and Joan Collins, presented with a blue border and noting its ‘CINEMASCOPE’ and ‘COLOR BY DE LUXE’ production. The second item is a Spanish movie poster for the 1971 Universal Pictures film ‘María Estuardo, Reina de Escocia’ (Mary Stuart, Queen of Scots), featuring Vanessa Redgrave and Glenda Jackson, characterized by a prominent hot pink title band, an illustration of two women in period attire, and a stylized blue sketch of a crowd, also indicating ‘TECHNICOLOR PANAVISION.’ The third item is an Italian film program or magazine titled ‘LA REGINA VERGINE’ (The Virgin Queen), which displays an ornate border around an oval historical illustration and lists actors including Jean Simmons, Stewart Granger, and Deborah Kerr, likely referencing the 1953 film ‘Young Bess.’ All items are made of printed paper.
