Another Great Auction 6th November
A pair of vintage hinged metal cases. The upper item is a silver-toned, rectangular case, featuring a finely engraved map depicting Great Britain, Ireland, and a portion of France. Visible English text includes ‘ENGLISH CHANNEL,’ ‘NORTH SEA,’ ‘NORTHERN IRELAND,’ and ‘IRISH FREE STATE,’ along with numerous city names. The surface is horizontally reeded and includes a blank circular escutcheon. The lower item is a smaller, brass-toned, rectangular case, characterized by a heavily ribbed design intricately engraved with foliate and geometric patterns, centering on an ornate monogram, possibly ‘RP’ or ‘JR.’
