A Chinese Wedding Basket, crafted as an octagonal wooden lidded container with a pivoting arched handle, carved with stylized details at its ends. The item is made from dark-stained wood. The lid features a central hand-painted or pyrography decoration depicting birds among flowering branches, enclosed by a simple border. Inside the lid, black Chinese characters read “福” (fú, good fortune) and “壽” (shòu, longevity). Further black Chinese characters are present on the bottom interior of the container, reading “福德” (fú dé, good fortune and virtue), “四明” (Sìmíng, a place name), and “公司” (gōng sī, company), indicating a potential manufacturer or regional origin. The overall aesthetic is consistent with East Asian craftsmanship.
