Another Great Auction 6th November
A pair of Mid-20th Century Brutalist ceramic vases. These square-form vessels are characterized by a handcrafted, studio pottery style. They feature a coarse, unrefined clay body finished with a variegated, textured glaze exhibiting rich tones of dark brown, bronze, and muted green/blue, giving a somewhat granular or bubbly surface. Each vessel is designed with a central cylindrical opening at the top; one is significantly taller and narrower, the other shorter and wider. An impressed circular maker’s mark, resembling a stylized ‘S’ or an abstract symbol, is visible on the lower front corner of both pieces.
