Another Great Auction 6th November
A rectangular, hinged Persian brass box, distinguished by its intricate Ghalamzani engraving. The lid and sides feature deeply chased or repoussé patterns of birds amidst dense floral and foliate motifs, bordered by repeating geometric or stylized floral designs. The item exhibits a rich, aged patina, with darker tones accentuating the recessed details and brighter areas on the raised surfaces, indicative of wear or polishing. Small feet are visible supporting the base. A small, indistinct, embossed mark, possibly a maker’s mark or hallmark, is present on the underside, though its details are not clearly discernible for translation.
