Another Great Auction 6th November
A collection of approximately ten decorative ceramic or porcelain collector plates, accompanied by various certificates and informational brochures. The lot primarily features D’Arceau-Limoges ‘Noël Vitrail’ series plates, which depict religious scenes reminiscent of stained-glass windows. Visible text on accompanying paperwork for these plates includes “Noël Vitrail” and references to “The Dignity of Man and the Celebration of Life Through Art.”
Also included in the collection are diverse other plates, such as one featuring historical costumed figures with dates ranging from 1875 to 1896 surrounding an armorial crest with an eagle. Another is a brown transferware plate commemorating “1947 YORKSHIRE COLLIERIES 1994” with an image of a miner and a horse. A further plate displays a naturalistic depiction of a kingfisher, partially labeled “LITTLE KINGFISHER,” and a multi-segment plate exhibits floral and geometric patterns. Some accompanying paperwork references “The Story of the Crown Jewels of England.”
