Another Great Auction 6th November
A bottle of Copeland Smugglers Reserve Bordeaux Grand Cru Rum. This modern, unopened bottle features a matte black ceramic or stoneware squat, rounded body, topped with a royal blue plastic cap. The primary label is a vibrant royal blue with orange and black accents, decorated with period-evocative illustrations of palm trees, barrels, and ships. The label clearly displays “COPELAND RUM,” “SMUGGLERS RESERVE,” “BORDEAUX GRAND CRU,” “70 CL,” and “42% ALC/VOL.” An embedded copper-toned medallion with a compass rose design is centered on the front shoulder. Further labels detail the product’s story (“IN 1633, FRENCH WINE CAME TO COUNTY DOWN”), ingredients (Cane Molasses), maturation in “Kentucky Bourbon Barrels” with a “Bordeaux Grand Cru Red Wine” finish, and an establishment date of “EST. 2016.” Markings also identify it as a “Killyleagh Harbour Master Grand Cru Edition” imported by Killyleagh Distillery (Northern Ireland), with health warnings and a barcode. The French term “Grand Cru” signifies a high-quality classification.
