Another Great Auction 6th November
A figural glazed ceramic liquor bottle, made exclusively for “The Abbot’s Choice Blended Scotch Whisky” by John McEwan & Co Ltd, Leith, Scotland. The bottle is shaped as a stylized monk or friar, presented in a brownish-green finish. A paper label on the front identifies it as “The ABBOT’S CHOICE BLENDED Scotch Whisky,” produced by “JOHN MCEWAN & CO LTD, LEITH, SCOTLAND,” noting “70° Proof” and “26⅔ Fl. OZs,” and describing it as a “Figurine.” The base is embossed with “M,” “MADE EXCLUSIVELY FOR THE ABBOTS CHOICE SCOTCH WHISKY JOHN MCEWAN & Co LTD LEITH, SCOTLAND LIQUOR BOTTLE SCOTLAND.” The bottle includes a corresponding ceramic stopper with a cork base.
