A 19th Century Indian Krishnanagar clay figure, attributed to Jadunath Pal, depicting a male porter or laborer, mounted on a rectangular wooden base. The figure features a bald, dark-skinned head possibly made of papier-mâché or composition, with painted facial details including a mustache and somber expression. The body is clad in coarse, natural-toned textile garments, including a shirt and a large sack carried over the left shoulder, which is tied at the neck. The lower garments are also textile, appearing torn and tattered.
