A collection of approximately 30 British walking and cycling guidebooks, encompassing both vintage and contemporary publications. The collection prominently features several A. Wainwright “A Pictorial Guide to the Lakeland Fells” series volumes, including “The Eastern Fells,” “The North Western Fells,” “The Southern Fells,” “The Northern Fells,” and “Outlying Fells of Lakeland,” alongside his “A Coast to Coast Walk” and “Pennine Way Companion.” These Wainwright guides are characterized by their distinctive illustrative style and typically show age-related toning consistent with mid-20th-century printing. Complementing these are numerous more modern AA-branded “30 Walks In” and “30 Cycle Rides In” regional guides, covering areas such as Cornwall, West Yorkshire, North Yorkshire, Staffordshire, East Midlands & Cambridgeshire, Edinburgh & Eastern Scotland, The Cotswolds, Snowdonia & North Wales, Lake District & The Northwest, Hampshire & Isle of Wight, Surrey, Gloucestershire, Sussex, and Norfolk, which appear to date from the late 20th or early 21st century. Additional titles include “Exploring the Lake District” by Malcolm Boyes and “High Peak Walks.” The items are predominantly softcover, though one “Coast to Coast Walk” guide is a dark blue cloth-bound hardcover.
