Another Great Auction 6th November
A collection of eight English pewter tankards. Each tankard features a classic pub mug shape with a C-scroll handle and a flared base. Several examples incorporate a gold-colored band around the rim. The tankards are elaborately engraved with commemorative text and a map, specifically referencing ‘SOUTH LINCOLNSHIRE SALUTES THE BRITISH FORCES,’ ‘IRAQ,’ ‘KUWAIT,’ ‘SAUDI ARABIA,’ and details of ‘OPERATION GRANBY, 15 JANUARY TO 28 FEBRUARY 1991.’ Many are presented within their original brown and black cardboard boxes, which clearly state ‘Finest Hand Made English Pewter’ and ‘Guaranteed free from Lead.’ The items are confirmed to be made of pewter.
