Another Great Auction 6th November
A deactivated English Double Barrel Shotgun, featuring a side-by-side barrel configuration and external hammers. The item is constructed from wood for the stock and fore-end, and blued/patinated steel for the barrels and action. The wooden stock exhibits traditional checkering on the grip and is fitted with a brass escutcheon. The metal receiver displays faint scrollwork engraving, and a partial number “659” is visible on the underside of the barrels. This shotgun is accompanied by a Deactivation Certificate from The Birmingham Gun Barrel Proof House, dated October 4, 1990, certifying it as an English Double Barrel Shotgun of 12 Bore with 30-inch barrel length. The certificate also bears the Latin motto ‘CAVENDO TUTUS’.
