Another Great Auction 6th November
This lot comprises a group of six framed artworks, prominently featuring a limited edition print by Margaret Clarkson titled ‘Ready For Bed’. The print, signed ‘Margaret Clarkson’ and numbered ‘195/380’, depicts a domestic scene of a woman bathing a child, presented in a light wood frame. Also included is an embroidered textile art piece, depicting birds and blossoming branches with Chinese calligraphy reading “花鳥迎春” (Flowers and birds welcome spring), presented in a black frame. A framed textile fragment is identified by an inscription as “PART OF THE WHITE ENSIGN FLOWN BY H.M.S. ESKIMO, AT THE INVASION OF SICILY JULY 10TH 1943”, presented in a light wood frame. Further included is a framed pen-and-ink drawing of a rural scene, signed “Cynthia Barnett”, in a black frame. Completing the lot are two identically framed graphic prints (likely woodcuts or linocuts) of a winged figure, each signed “Lesley Buchanan 19/25”, presented in distressed blue and gold-tone frames.
