Another Great Auction 6th November
A group of vintage hardcover books and one framed photograph. The books include a multi-volume set titled “HUTCHINSON’S HISTORY OF THE NATIONS” with red cloth covers, ornate gilt lettering, and a central crest depicting historical figures. Visible spine titles include “ENGLISH,” “IRISH,” “CHINESE,” “ARABS,” and “TURKS.” Also present is a multi-volume set titled “MODERN PROFESSIONAL NURSING” in maroon cloth with gilt spine lettering, including volumes marked “VOL. I,” “II,” “III,” and “IV.” A large single volume, “Bailey & Love’s Short Practice of Surgery, 14th Edition,” noting “224th thousand,” revised by A. J. Harding Rains and W. Melville Capper, published by H. K. Lewis & Co. Ltd., London, is also included. Another medical text, “DEVELOPMENT OF THE INFANT AND YOUNG CHILD NORMAL AND ABNORMAL” by Illingworth, completes the book collection. The framed item is a sepia-toned portrait photograph of a woman, likely dating to the late 19th or early 20th century, presented in a light-colored frame with a decorative border.
