Another Great Auction 6th November
A collection of vintage paper and cardboard items, predominantly photographic ephemera and an audio recording. The collection includes a cardboard box for a “3¾ I.P.S. TWIN TRACK MONO TAPE RECORD” titled “ANIMAL TRACKS” by Columbia/EMI, featuring a black and white photograph of five men on railroad tracks, indicative of a 1960s musical release. Alongside are three small cardboard boxes containing “Real Photo Snaps” or “Snap-Shots”: one titled “REAL PHOTO SNAPS OF KNARESBOROUGH” by Photochrom Co.; another light green box for “TWELVE REAL PHOTO SNAP-SHOTS OF SCARBOROUGH” (V. & K. Series, Glossy Sepia); and a “VALENTINE’S SNAPSHOTS” box of “12 REAL PHOTOGRAPHS” from “NORTH WALES” (Sepia Glossy-Hand Coloured). Also included are two small, open albums displaying black and white landscape/townscape photographs. Lastly, a worn cardboard box titled “The Silk Industry of Japan” details “10 ASSORTED COLOURED BY HAND” samples, with Japanese text “生糸になるまで” (Ikito ni naru made) translating to “Until it becomes raw silk,” and visibly contains several small, off-white, fuzzy specimens resembling silk cocoons or raw silk stages.
