Another Great Auction 20th November
A late 19th-century stemmed trophy cup, Plated, by Joseph Rodgers & Sons, Sheffield. The base is marked “EP” and “JOSEPH RODGERS & SONS SHEFFIELD” with a maker’s symbol (a cross above a star). The body is extensively decorated with applied and engraved elements, featuring a central emblem of a lion above a rose. Multiple banners are inscribed “5TH BATN SHERWOOD FORESTERS VOLUNTEER BATT.”, “THE YORK & LANCASTER REG T”, “OFFICERS CUP”, and “WON BY W. H. CAMMACK 1897”.
