Another Great Auction 20th November
A collection of approximately two dozen small metal pins, primarily lapel pins and one stick pin, crafted from gold-tone and silver-tone metals, with several pieces featuring enamel decoration. The designs are varied, but heavily feature religious iconography, including numerous crosses of different styles (such as plain, Maltese, and stylized forms), an enameled blue fish bearing the Greek letters ‘ΙΧΘΥΣ’ (ICH THYS – meaning “fish” and serving as an early Christian acronym for “Jesus Christ, God’s Son, Savior”), an enameled black horse, and an enameled white and black bird resembling a swallow. One pin is adorned with a small pearl. Most pins utilize a clutch-back fastener, with some indistinct markings visible on the reverse, including partial text like ‘MADE IN…’.
