A pair of framed collections of Player’s Cigarettes advertising cards, circa 1930s. The upper frame contains approximately 63 cards from a Player’s Cigarettes series depicting various military hats and headwear, each titled in English, such as ‘INFANTRY OFFICER’S SHAKO 1807.’ The lower frame features a similar number of cards from the ‘John Player’s Kings & Queens’ series, illustrating portraits of historical British royalty and nobility, identified with names like ‘HENRY VIII,’ ‘CATHERINE OF ARAGON,’ and ‘MARY II.’ All visible cards are branded ‘PLAYER’S CIGARETTES’ and are meticulously arranged and displayed under glass in matching dark brown wooden frames, mounted on a burgundy-colored backing.
The frames measure approximately 20 x 21 inches and 18 x 16.5 inches respectively.
