Another Great Auction 20th November
A pair of early to mid-20th century framed displays of collectible cigarette cards. The first, vertically oriented display features 25 ‘Railway Locomotives’ cigarette cards by W.D. & H.O. Wills, arranged in a grid formation. This display is housed in a gold-tone frame with prominent ‘WILLS’S CIGARETTES’ branding at the top and ‘W.D. & H.O. WILLS’ at the bottom. The second, horizontally oriented display contains a collection of military regimental badge cards. Each card depicts a distinct regimental crest, with identified regiments including ‘THE LANCASHIRE FUSILIERS,’ ‘THE LOYAL REGT.,’ ‘THE RIFLE BRIGADE,’ ‘THE BLACK WATCH,’ ‘THE ROYAL DRAGOONS,’ ‘THE SEAFORTH HIGHLANDERS,’ and ‘GRENADIER GUARDS.’ This display is also presented in a gold-tone frame. Both displays appear to date from the common period for such collectible card sets.
The vertical frame measures 24” high by 12” wide.
The horizontal frame measures 15” high by 18” wide.
