Another Great Auction 20th November
A group of four mixed-metal and enamel military-themed items, likely mid-20th century. The group is centered around a Royal Engineers George VI-era enamel sweetheart brooch or lapel badge, consistent with WWII-era examples. It features a silver-tone finish with a crown, laurel wreath, and the motto ‘HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE’ encircling a ‘G.R.’ (Georgius Rex) monogram and ‘ROYAL ENGINEERS’ on a blue banner. It has an integrated hook element. Also included is a gold-tone tie tack featuring a crown, rampant animal, and a blue enamel banner inscribed ‘R.E.’ (Royal Engineers), connected by a chain to a silver-tone T-bar. A ring with a crown, wings, and ‘RAF’ (Royal Air Force) on a blue enamel oval is present. The collection is completed by an octagonal silver-tone charm or fob depicting a lion, bird, and shield, marked ‘N.Y.’ on the reverse.
