Another Great Auction 20th November
A glazed ceramic souvenir model of an early British tank, identified as a Savoy China Crested WW1 Tank. The model features hand-painted details including a coat of arms with the inscription “WOODLANDS” below it, depicting a castle, mining headgear, houses, and a white rose. Further inscriptions on the side read “HMS DONNER BLITZEN” and “MODEL OF BRITISH TANK AS FIRST USED BY BRITISH TROOPS AT THE BATTLE OF THE ANCRE SEP. 1916.” The underside bears the marks “PORCELLE,” “W.R. & S.,” and “BRITISH MANUFACTURE,” along with the number “515” on the rear right side.
