Another Great Auction 20th November
A zoomorphic glazed ceramic vessel, likely Chinese in origin, modeled in the form of a stylized turtle or tortoise. The prominent, almost dragon-like head serves as a spout. It features a raised, flared opening on its back, surrounded by a radiating relief motif, with additional patterned details across the shell. The item is covered in a dark, lustrous brown glaze, possibly an iron-brown or celadon type, which exhibits variations in tone from deep olive to golden-brown where thinner or pooled. The exposed, unglazed base reveals a reddish-brown clay body. No discernible text or maker’s marks are visible.
