A Chinese octagonal dark-stained lacquered wedding basket, crafted from dark-stained or lacquered wood, featuring a curved, carved swing handle with decorative terminals. The lid is adorned with a painted or etched East Asian-style motif of birds amidst flowering branches, framed by a simple geometric border. Inside, the lid and base are marked with painted black Chinese characters including 壽 (shòu – Longevity), 喜 (xǐ – Joy/Happiness), and 慶 (qìng – Celebrate/Congratulate).
