Another Great Auction 20th November
A collection of six vintage medals and pendants, crafted from various base metals including brass and bronze. This group comprises:
1. A circular medal depicting St. Peter’s Basilica, inscribed “ANNO IVBILAEI 1975” (Latin for “Year of Jubilee 1975”), commemorating a jubilee period.
2. A circular medal, possibly Greek, featuring a musical horn motif surrounded by text “ΕΝΩΣΙΣ ΠΑΡΑΓΩΓΩΝ ΣΥΝΘΕΤΩΝ ΡΟΜΠΟΛΑΣ ΚΕΦΑΛ” (translating to “Union of Producers Composers Rombolas Cephal”).
3. A shield-shaped pendant depicting a reliquary, marked “H. BLOED 1150 1950 BRUGGE” (Dutch for “Holy Blood Bruges”) along with “V.D. VELDE”, suggesting an 800-year commemoration.
4. A larger circular medal, attached to a metal clip, carrying the English text “TUNNEL JOINT COMMITTEE EUROPE THE WORLD” with a partially visible date “1980”.
5. Two smaller items: one with a shield design within a wreath and the other an octagonal form also wreathed, neither featuring clearly discernible text.
The items exhibit diverse patinas and wear consistent with their age.
