Another Great Auction 20th November
A traditional-style dressing table mirror, also known as a vanity mirror, crafted from reddish-brown wood, likely mahogany or a stained hardwood. The piece features an arched and scrolled rectangular mirror, which pivots between two turned side supports, resting on a rectangular plinth base. The base contains a single, pull-out drawer fitted with a brass-toned bail pull. The drawer is internally lined with red felt and divided into three compartments. The overall style suggests a Georgian or Victorian revival aesthetic, displaying a visible grain and glossy finish. An internal inventory or catalogue mark, “2.SEX” and “1800 DEH”, is reflected in the mirror.
Approximately 14 inches by 18 inches.
