Another Great Auction 20th November
This lot comprises two hardcover books and a Royal Selangor pewter goblet. The first book is J.R.R. TOLKIEN’s ‘The Silmarillion,’ a red-covered hardcover edition, consistent with a 1977 first edition/printing based on visual matches from web research. The second book is ‘J.R.R. TOLKIEN: Author of the Century’ by TOM SHIPPEY, a beige-covered hardcover biography. The accompanying goblet features a clear glass insert supported by a detailed silver-toned pewter base. The base is sculpted to resemble an armored gauntlet or dragon’s claw, prominently holding a gold-toned metal ring. The base is clearly stamped ‘ROYAL SELANGOR PEWTER.’
