Another Great Auction 20th November
The lot comprises a mid-20th century style BOC soda syphon and a group of four ceramic figural liqueur decanters. The soda syphon features an off-white enameled metal body accented with grey polka dots, topped by a chrome-plated dispenser head with a cream-colored plastic lever. Its base is relief-marked “SERIAL NO. SHUX”, “BOC”, and “MADE IN ENGLAND”.
The accompanying four glazed ceramic figural bottles depict stylized anthropomorphic figures, likely liqueur decanters. One teal figure, sculpted as a warrior with a shield, bears a label reading “CHERRY ORIOLI, PRODUCT OF ITALY”. Another black-glazed figure, depicting a person in a hat holding a drum, has a label marked “APRICOT ORIOLI, PRODUCT OF ITALY”. The two other black-glazed figures portray individuals in stylized attire; one is a crouching figure with a headwrap, and the other holds a textured, basket-like dish on its head, with both appearing to retain original metallic foil caps.
