Another Great Auction 20th November
A collection of six decorative boxes, comprising various materials and designs. The largest is a rectangular metal-framed box featuring light-colored, textured fabric panels on its lid and sides, opening to reveal a black velvet interior. Positioned centrally are two smaller square boxes: one crafted from silver-toned metal with openwork butterfly and floral motifs and clear glass or acrylic sides; the other with a mosaic-like inlay of iridescent mother-of-pearl shell squares covering a wooden core. At the foreground are three additional smaller metal boxes: a rectangular silver-toned box featuring a detailed relief of a dragon alongside Chinese characters translating to ‘Double Happiness’ (囍) and ‘Longevity’ (壽); a square silver-toned box with a raised rose motif on its lid; and a darkened rectangular metal box adorned with stylized relief patterns resembling leaves or reeds.
