Another Great Auction 20th November
A collection of at least six Wedgwood and Danbury Mint ‘The World of Beatrix Potter’ collector plates. Crafted from fine bone china, each plate features a vibrant, multi-color illustration depicting anthropomorphic animal characters engaged in narrative scenes consistent with Beatrix Potter’s stories. Visible titles on the reverses include “The Tale of Benjamin Bunny” and “Pigling Bland.” The backs of the plates bear circular markings including “The Danbury Mint,” “THE WORLD OF BEATRIX POTTER™,” “WEDGWOOD® fine bone china,” “© Frederick Warne & Co. 1994,” and “Royal Doulton Ltd.” A “CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY” confirms the series as “THE WORLD OF BEATRIX POTTER™” by The Danbury Mint and Frederick Warne, produced in Wedgwood fine china. An additional paper notes a “SPECIAL COMMEMORATIVE ISSUE 100th Anniversary Peter Rabbit Centenary 2002.” Each plate is housed in its original custom-fit styrofoam packaging.
