Another Great Auction 20th November
A pair of Bayel Bacchante frosted figural stem crystal brandy glasses. Each glass is crafted from clear glass, featuring a distinct frosted or satin-finished figural stem depicting a standing putto or cherub. The bowls are wide and spherical, in a balloon or brandy snifter style, atop clear, circular bases. One glass bears a rectangular sticker on its bowl with the French inscription “MANUFACTURE EN ALLEMAGNE” (Made in Germany), which offers a conflicting origin to the common attribution of Bayel to France.
