Another Great Auction 20th November
A pair of vintage electric therapeutic lamps, likely dating from the mid-20th century, displaying utilitarian design features. The first is an Ergon heat lamp by Mottershead & Co., a freestanding infrared heat lamp with a painted metallic-grey base and a polished aluminum parabolic reflector. It is marked “ERGON”, “British Made”, “INFRA RED”, “W. 450”, and “200/250V”. The second unit is a Barber Model 38 Health-Master sunlamp, featuring a cream-colored painted metal housing, polished metal interior elements, two visible tubular bulbs, and two wooden or bakelite handles. Both lamps retain their original textile-covered electrical cords and period-appropriate plugs.
