Another Great Auction 20th November
A brass industrial safety lamp, identified as a Welsh Miners Lamp by the Hockley Lamp and Limelight Company. Constructed primarily from brass with a clear glass cylinder protecting the illumination mechanism. Its design features a cylindrical body with a domed top, a protective cage around the glass, and a substantial base, consistent with late 19th or early 20th-century functional design. An oval brass plaque is affixed to the upper body, displaying embossed English text that reads “LAMP & LIMELIGHT” at the top, “COLLIERY NO.” and “SERIAL NO.” in the center, and “HOOKLEY COMPANY” along the bottom curve.
