Another Great Auction 20th November
A Vintage Pelham Puppets ‘BUMPY JO’ Marionette, comprising a painted wooden head with a pink skin tone, blue eyes, and a red conical hat. The fabric body is adorned in a colorful polka-dot jumpsuit with a yellow ruffled collar, and features wooden hands and feet, all connected by strings to a wooden control bar. The puppet is accompanied by its original yellow cardboard box, decorated with illustrated figures and bearing the text ‘Pelham Puppets,’ ‘MARLBOROUGH WILTS,’ ‘HAND MADE PUPPETS FOR CHILDREN,’ and ‘FULLY ILLUSTRATED INSTRUCTIONS.’ An aged paper instruction sheet, with diagrams and text including ‘HOW TO HOLD,’ is also present.
