Another Great Auction 20th November
A collection of five decorative ceramic items comprising one vase and four plates. One plate is identified as Aynsley, pattern 6841, featuring a central bouquet of stylized flowers on a white ground with a simple rim band. The reverse bears a partially legible green circular manufacturer’s mark, possibly including ‘ENGLAND’. Another plate, stamped ‘POOLE’S ENGLAND’ on the reverse, displays an intricate blue and gold geometric/floral border surrounding a central medallion with realistic roses and flowers on a white ground. A Bradford Exchange limited edition collector’s plate, ‘Legends of the Nile’, ‘The Golden Mask of Tutankhamun’, depicts the gilded mask of Tutankhamun surrounded by blue, teal, and gold Egyptian motifs on a dark blue border, with additional text on the reverse stating, ‘Due to the precious metals used in this plat[e]’. A fourth plate features a rich red rim with elaborate gold scrollwork around a central white oval medallion containing a floral bouquet; its reverse bears a partially legible green circular manufacturer’s mark. The collection is completed by a white-bodied, glazed ceramic vase with a bulbous base and flaring rim, adorned with multi-colored wavy bands and large stylized floral motifs, suggesting a mid-20th century aesthetic.
