Another Great Auction 20th November
This lot comprises three framed prints. The first is a Victorian-era caricature from “VANITY FAIR,” dated “August 29 1874.” It depicts a man in a top hat and suit, signed “Spy” (Leslie Ward), and notes “Vincent Brooks, Day & Son. Lith. London” as the printer, with the title “the ‘Lash’.” The remaining two are vertical prints illustrating historical sports figures; one is labeled “FOOTBALL LEAGUE FOUNDED 1888” and the other “RUGBY UNION FOUNDED 1871.” All three items are housed under glass within wooden frames.
The two vertical prints measure approximately 10 x 22 inches each. The horizontal Vanity Fair print measures approximately 12 x 17 inches.
