Another Great Auction 20th November
This lot comprises two glazed ceramic vessels. The first is a squat, globular pot with a wide mouth, featuring an expressive, multi-colored glaze on the exterior with blues, yellows, and reds swirling in a marbled effect. The interior is a plain salmon-pink, complemented by a narrow blue band at the rim. Its unglazed base bears an impressed mark “WADE” along with “63 6”, and a handwritten “105” in blue ink. The second item is a wide, shallow bowl with a darker, mottled grey-brown exterior glaze. The interior is a speckled tan-brown displaying visible throwing rings and lighter drip-like effects, characteristic of studio pottery. Its unglazed base features an impressed circular mark partially legible as “HAND REPUBLIC OF”, strongly suggesting “Handmade Republic of Ireland” as the origin.
