An archaistic bronze ‘taotie’ arrow vase, hu-form, dating to the Ming Dynasty?. This dark bronze or bronze-alloy ritualistic vessel features a flared foot, a bulbous body, a constricted neck, and a wide, octagonal, flared mouth. The upper body is prominently adorned with a *taotie* mask design, flanked by a pair of tubular handles. The main body features vertically oriented bands of intricate geometric patterns, including key-fret or *leiwen* motifs. No visible inscriptions or maker’s marks.
