Among this collection is an Original WW1 Manchester Regiment Cap Badge, identified through web intelligence. This collection comprises eleven various British military cap badges and insignia, primarily constructed from brass-tone and silver-tone metals, with some pieces featuring a combination of both. Designs include heraldic motifs such as lions, unicorns, dragons, and a rampant horse, along with crowns (including the St. Edward’s Crown), wreaths, and shields. Several badges feature the “ER” (Elizabeth Regina) cypher, indicating a post-1953 period, while others display prominent text and mottoes such as “ROYAL BERKSHIRE,” “ROYAL ENGINEER,” “MANCHESTER” with “CONCILIO ET LABORE” (By counsel and by labour), “ROYAL KENT WEST” with “INVICTA” (Unconquered), and “ROYAL CORPS OF SIGNALS” with “FIRM” and “HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE” (Shame be to him who thinks evil of it). One silver-tone badge features a double-headed eagle design.
