Another Great Auction 11th December
A collection of ten British military regimental badges, including a 16th The Queen’s Lancers cap badge. The badges are likely cap or collar badges, exhibiting various designs and bi-metallic constructions in brass, white metal, and silvered finishes. Motifs include a cannon, a castle with text “PRIMUS IN INDIS” (First in India) and “DORSETSHIRE,” hunting horns with “SOMERSET & CORNWALL,” a bugle, a sphinx over “EGYPT” and “MALAVERA,” a grenade with “UBIQUE” (Everywhere), a crowned thistle, a crown over “16” and “THE QUEEN’S LANCERS,” and a depiction of Britannia with a Union Jack shield. A central circular badge features a “GR” monogram, possibly for the Royal Sussex Regiment.
