A collection of ten British military cap badges, dating from the early to mid-20th century. The badges are primarily of brass and white metal construction, with one example incorporating blue enamel. The collection includes insignia for various regiments, such as a ‘BEDFORDSHIRE’ badge featuring a stag and partial ‘HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE’ motto; ‘THE ROYAL DRAGOONS’ with a crowned lion; ‘THE SUFFOLK REGt’ displaying a castle with ‘INSIGNIA MONTIS CALPE’ and ‘GIBRALTAR’; a ‘ROYAL GREYS’ and ‘SCOTS’ badge with ‘WATERLOO’ surrounding an eagle, identified through web intelligence as a Royal Scots Greys WW1 Waterloo cap badge; a ‘ROYAL LINCOLNSHIRE REGIMENT’ badge with a sphinx and ‘EGYPT’ and blue enamel; a crowned dragon badge for ‘THE BUFFS’; a griffin-like crest with a partial ‘DENTIBUS’ motto; a sphinx badge with ‘EGYPT’ and ‘TALAVERA’; and a crowned badge featuring the initials ‘R M E E’ within wreaths.
