This lot comprises seven items of historical military regimental insignia: a red fabric shoulder title and six assorted metal badges. The fabric patch features “ROYAL LINCOLNSHIRE” embroidered in cream. The metal badges are predominantly made from brass, bronze, and silver-toned metal, with several being bi-metallic. Designs include a dark bronze starburst badge with a central sphinx marked “LINCOLNSHIRE REGIMENT” and “EGYPT”, and a larger silver-toned starburst badge featuring a central figure on an “X” surrounded by an oval with the Latin motto “NEMO ME IMPUNE LACESSIT” (No one provokes me with impunity), and banners reading “THE ROYAL HIGHLANDERS” and “BLACK WATCH”. The remaining five badges are cap badges, all featuring a sphinx design. Three are bi-metallic with a silver-toned sphinx and a gold-toned scroll, marked “EGYPT” on the plinth and either “ROYAL LINCOLNSHIRE REGIMENT” or “LINCOLNSHIRE” on the scroll. Two mono-metallic bronze-toned sphinx badges are also present, with one clearly displaying “LINCOLNSHIRE” on its scroll.
