Another Great Auction 11th December
A collection of four grouse foot brooches or kilt pins and one carved shell brooch. The four taxidermy animal paws, likely from a small mammal, are each mounted with a metal cap and a gemstone. Two paws feature silver-toned metal caps with a stylized deer antler or stag head motif, each set with a faceted red gemstone. A third paw has a similar silver-toned metal cap and motif, set with an oval amber-colored cabochon gemstone. The fourth paw is fitted with a brass or bronze-toned metal cap holding a faceted black gemstone. The fifth item is a carved, iridescent natural material, likely shell or horn, depicting a stylized swan or goose, which appears to be a brooch or pendant. No visible text, hallmarks, or maker’s marks are discernible on any of the items.
