Another Great Auction 11th December
A collection of five vintage Scottish grouse foot and hunting-themed brooches and pins, consistent with traditional Central European hunting-trophy or Trachten aesthetics. The group includes three brooches crafted from real animal paws, identified in the market as grouse or rabbit feet, each fitted with polished silver-toned metal caps. Two of these paws prominently display large faceted glass cabochons (one dark reddish-brown, one amber) set in stylized antler-motif bezels, while the third features a simple spherical metal accent. An additional item is a feather arrangement, primarily brown with variegated orange and yellow plumage, mounted in a silver-toned metal setting which includes a small faceted yellow-orange glass cabochon and a tiny, spoon-like detail. The final piece is a circular, intricately carved disk of antler or bone, depicting a stylized animal surrounded by scrollwork, mounted on a small piece of green patterned cardstock. No discernible text or manufacturing marks are visible on any of the items or their backings.
