Another Great Auction 11th December
A large, ring or string-bound album, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. The reddish-brown cover, possibly faux leather or embossed cardboard, features a central black ornate medallion and corner flourishes, suggesting a decorative or potentially gothic revival style. Yellow stickers marked “4194” are present on the front. The album contains a diverse collection of paper ephemera, including numerous black and white and sepia-toned photographic prints, postcards, and reproductions of historical paintings. Notable contents include several portraits of Queen Elizabeth I, alongside items with English text referencing “HEADQUARTERS, ILKLEY, MOORS, YORKSHIRE” and “NATIONAL PORTRAIT GALLERY”. French text identifies a photograph as “194 – Jeune fille de Paris” and another “BRETAGNE – COSTUMES DE PONT L’ABBE”, with faint handwritten names “Princesse Bisson, Vincent d’Albins” also present.
