Another Great Auction 11th December
A collection of eleven assorted British military cap or regimental badges, prominently featuring a King’s Own Scottish Borderers (KOSB) badge. The badges are predominantly crafted from brass, bronze, and bi-metal (combining silver-colored and gold-toned metals). The collection features various designs, including a crowned “ER” cypher (indicating Queen Elizabeth II’s reign), a prancing horse, a Christmas tree emblem, flaming grenades (one with a rose, another with St. George and the Dragon), and several intricate starburst or cross-shaped badges. Visible text and markings identify specific regiments and units such as the “RECONNAISSANCE CORPS,” “ROYAL SUSSEX REGIMENT,” “THE CHESHIRE REGIMENT,” “KING’S OWN SCOTTISH BORDERERS,” and “NORTHUMBERLAND FUSILIERS,” along with various royal cyphers including “KDG.” Several badges display Latin mottos: “HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE,” “NEMO ME IMPUNE LACESSIT,” “IN VERITATE RELIGIONIS CONFIDO,” and “NISI DOMINUS FRUSTRA.”
