A Capodimonte porcelain domed casket, rectangular in form, extensively decorated with vibrant polychrome enamels in high relief. The domed lid depicts classical or mythological figural scenes with numerous nude and draped figures. The sides feature winged putti amidst aquatic creatures. The lid is fitted with an ornate, gold-colored handle/latch and a prominent relief of a male head on one end. Gilded rims accent both the lid and the body. The box is supported by four ornate feet. The interior is plain white with a gilded rim. The base bears a stylized crown above an “N,” encircling the word “KERAMOS,” with “S. Capodimonte” (Società Capodimonte) and “ITALY” marks, alongside the number “16.”
